Public and Private Transportation Options
| Public transportation: Granada,
San Juan del Sur and Peñas Blancas have buses available to bring you to
Rivas. From Rivas, an additional taxi ride is necessary to bring you
down to the dock at San Jorge. Ferries depart from San Jorge on a
regular basis for Ometepe Island. Patience is good to bring with you as
the bus rides take time, Managua about 2 ½ hours, Granada around 1 ½
hours and Peñas Blancas and San Juan del Sur a little less than an
hour. You can also take a taxi directly to the port at San Jorge. Private transportation: For a faster and more comfortable trip, we can set up private transportation for you. Please let us know the date, time and the address of your hotel. Also, notify us at least 24 hours before your departure time. The following rates are for transportation for up to 2 people to the ferry in San Jorge/Rivas. For larger parties or alternate locations, please feel free to contact us. |
